- Sprinkle in Timberland DNA - Lugs, 4 row stitch, wheat.
Phase 1: Identify the issue and solve the problem
Problem: The Timberland kid's program was halted for a few seasons with the only drops being take downs from men's and women's. There is now a white space to revamp the entire kids line, but redone in a thoughtful manner where the designs are made specifically with the kids and parents in mind. The iconic takedowns still have a place in the line, but need to be redeveloped with better materials, closures, and design intent.
Phase 2: Material, color, and construction exploration
Explore and uncover materials that reinforce the original brief. All materials should be:
- Hand-feel must be buttery soft to the touch. Appropriate for young toddlers.
- If leather or synthetic, it must be lightweight and flexible. If textile, it must be breathable and comfortable.
- Tooling must use ground contact EVA + rubber compound mix to allow for cushioning, light-weightedness, and durability.
- Rubber must be grippy and non-marking
